Superior vena cava syndrome
Etiology
- Superior mediastinal tumor: lung, lymphoma, thyroid, thymoma, teratoma, synovial cell carcinoma, angiosarcoma
- Constrictive pericarditis
- Thrombophlebitis due to central venous catheter or pacemaker wires
- Chronic fibrotic mediastinitis: idiopathic, tuberculosis, histoplasmosis, pyogenic infection, drugs
- Aortic arch aneurysm
- Substernal goiter
