Eosinophilic pulmonary syndromes
Etiology
- Chronic eosinophilic pneumonia
- Acute eosinophilic pneumonia (Loeffler's syndrome)
- Drugs: nitrofurantoin, phenytoin, ampicillin, penicillin, sulfonamides, acetaminophen, ranitidine, methotrexate
- Helminth infection: ascariasis, hookworm, strongyloidiasis, paragonimiasis, toxocariasis (visceral larva migrans), tropical pulmonary eosinophilia (Wuchereria bancrofti, Brugia malayi)
- Allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA)
- Churg-Strauss syndrome
- Systemic hypereosinophilic syndromes
- Eosinophilic granuloma (Langerhans cell histiocytosis, histiocytosis X)
- Malignancy
- Numerous interstitial lung diseases
- Toxins: inhaled crack cocaine, heroin, Scotchguard, sulfite pesticides
