DDx
- Most common: Enterotoxigenic E. coli, Shigella, Campylobacter
- Less common: Aeromonas, Salmonella, noncholera vibrios, Entamoeba histolytica, Giardia lamblia, adenoviruses, rotavirus
- Chronic watery diarrhea: Entamoeba histolytica, Giardia lamblia, tropical sprue (rare)
- From unprotected anal intercourse: Neisseria gonorrhoeae, syphilis, lymphogranuloma venereum, herpes simplex
