Etiology

Autoimmune: rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, polyarteritis nodosa, Wegener’s granulomatosis, relapsing polychondritis, inflammatory bowel disease, sarcoidosis
Infectious: ophthalmic zoster, herpes simplex, Lyme disease, HIV, syphilis, tuberculosis
