Etiology

Emboli, e.g., atrial fibrillation
Thrombosis of mesenteric vessel
Low flow due to CHF or arterial spasm (e.g., ergotamine or cocaine)
Mesenteric vein occlusion
Postcoarctectomy syndrome (mesenteric vasoconstriction after coarctation repair)
